I think I have a floor bounce cancellation and know that adding a second woofer further down the (floor standing) cabinet can help with that. I am also considering adding a port to help the LF and was thinking if I put the port lower down the front of the cabinet it would have the same effect?
Hi, path length of first specular reflection through floor, the floor bounce, is usually so little that first interference null happens at many hundred Hertz, way higher than bass port output.
Since the port could output some midrange noise, I would put it in the back if possible. Also, consider port inlet position within the box, at least avoid putting it near any boundary to reduce this noise.
Hope it helps!
