Hi everyone.
I,m running Volumio on a raspberry Pi, USB out to a MiniDSP2X4HD configured as 2.1.
Does any one know if there a way to get automatic loudness function or dynamic EQ or something to compensate för lack of bass in low volume with this setup?
FusionDSP is available on Volumio however it doesn't support 2.1 configuration.
MiniDSP does not have automatic Loudness function either as far as I can read. ( can have several fixed settings though )
Any ideas?

Download Eualizer APO and active the dynamic loudness correction plug-in only works for windows PC

How is your program skills? I am sure anything is possible. If DSP can do room correction then it can do loudness as well.

You could program the different miniDSP presets to have higher or lower gain and then add the loudness EQ to the lower gain presets. So then the presets would act as three volume levels with "automatic" loudness contours.

Loudness control is automatic if your volume potentiometer has an appropriate fixed point tap on it. Does it? Then there is just a resistance/capacitor to connect there.
I might be misunderstanding you. Or my knowledge is way to poor. Or a combination of both.
However. My volume is not controlled with a potentiometer. It's controlled by software. Triggered with rotary encoder.
I think I,m stuck with the fixed settings for different EQ-settings offered in the MiniDSP. Until I move to another more advanced DSP (like APO)

APO is only windows based, I think. But yest there you have infinite control at the source of the decoder. The loudness contour settings dynamically track you amplitude (volume). Whether this is accurate or true loudness contour is debatable but never the less pleasant to listen to. It allows you to save different configuration for different sound settings, so I guess you can change the sound of your $10 headphones to exactly emulate a pair of Dan Clark $6000 headphones. Saves a lot of money. If it sounds the same, it must be the same 😎
Yep, I agree. APO is a powerful tool. And other DPS/EQ,s as well of course.
And regarding shaping the sound to emulate whatever you want is fantastic. (As long as distortion is kept at "low" or similar.)
