So my Dayton DTA-100a is dying and I'm looking to replace it. The headphone jack is shot, I have to twist the plug, wiggle it up or down, or just reinsert it a few times before I get both sides of my headphones to output correctly. The volume imbalance is getting worse each week. Also sometimes one or both of my bookshelf speakers doesnt get output, and I have to turn off and turn back on the amp a few times before I get full output again.
I'm looking to either build my own or buy a premade one. Something that is 2 x 50w+ and has a 1/4" headphone port. My source is my PC from a Creative Titanium HD soundcard. I'm currently using the Dayton B652 bookshelf speakers and Senheisser HD555s. Looking to upgrade soon, but I'm going to need to get a solid amp first.

Looking for a kit? Try the GT-101. It's a basic amp, just a power amp, no preamp. Better than 50 WPC. Full disclosure: I am not impartial about the amp!

Is there anything I can build that's under $150? Not really looking to go balls to the wall quite yet. Lol
Sorry for double post, I forgot to add it to my reply. Would one of these kits be good for what I want? 2 Channel 250Watt Class D Audio Amplifier Board - IRS2092 | eBay
