Does anyone know of a supplier who carries 'metacrylite' ( I believe that is the trade name)? This is the hard, acrylic that Goldmund used on their turntables - any info would be appreciated.
You're thinking of methacrylate...
Here's a link to the MSDS... http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/m5616.htm
I don't know anywhere that you can buy a rendered slab of it, but you can buy "kits" for making what you need. They consist of all the chemicals, etc. you would need to make your own. Although I am a crazy DIY guy, (just like everyone here) I think I would pass on the kits. I would either find a chemist-type-person to do it for you, or, just keep looking for someone to sell you a slab. The internet is a large place and I'm sure there is someone out there who can help you. Good luck!
p.s. if you find anything, let the rest of us know...
