Hi, I live in Shanghai China and want to but very high quality subwoofer drivers. Any recommendations? I know a lot of drivers are made here, but not all of them are high quality. The kind I want are heavy and not very easily shipped from the states/other countries into china because of customs and shipping headaches. Any recommendations?

That's large. I found Hi-Vi ( or also called Swans I think......or it is a merger). This is a Chinese company and not owned by the West.
Their 12 inch M12 Al/mag alloy cone woofer is great. I have a pair. Sounds great and finished really well.
The company also has 18 inch drivers but couldn't find specs anywhere.

I bought two 18 inch drivers from China have neodymium magnets; I have not fitted them to the 12 cubic foot cabinets Yet. Had the neodymium compression drivers tested and they test better than JBL 2446.
Much better treble than the JBL 2446 and only weigh 3 Kilo's not 30kilos.

Personally, I'd build woofer towers, maybe five feet tall, with several 8 inch or 12 inch Peerless woofers in each. Spreading out the distribution of the energy on all three axis is likely to work better with room acoustics (less boomy). And 18 inch drivers may have what might be called "conducted resonances" within the diaphram itself that could add a nasty coloration to the midrange, and this may not be filtered out very effectively by the crossover filter. If the listening room is larger than a large living room of a typical house, then maybe larger drivers do make sense. I highly prefer closed boxes with 4 pole active crossovers and active EQ, so they are acoustically flat down to 25HZ at the listening position. Ported boxes can't be forced electronically to be flat below their tuned frequencies without danger of driver damage due to low mechanical damping.
