I've got an old ported cabinet ~5.5 cu. ft. in volume tuned to around 37hz with no driver. Looking for reccomendations on a 15" or 18" driver that would perform well in this box.
From wherever you are located find a vendor that has some drivers that are in your price range.
Obtain their parameters and enter them into a design / simulation program like WinISD (or other) using the volume of the cabinet that you have.
See which one looks like it will work...avoid large peaks in the response and check for efficiency.
Some suppliers will have notes on the drivers they have that will suggest a certain size of cabinet... look for that.
Other than that someone else may have already designed a 5.5ft^2 and know what to use.

look for fs , Sensitivity , impedance , xmax , ... , see which one suits you and then check some vendors in your area and see if you find the ones you chose , and then check it with guys here before you buy anything 😉

my choice would be this one :
Eminence Lab 15 Subwoofer Speaker - Eminence lab 15 ia a 15" subwoofer 600 watt RMS speaker. Great upgrade or replacement speaker for subwoofer systems.
a quick run in speaker builder and you can tune it to 25 hz with 2" port by 1" lenght in a 5.5ft box
