Hey guys, i'm looking for some help and advice on building up a PA System.
Essentially i'm looking to purchase a PA System that can do Large to Medium sized venues no problem, with at least 250 people, and i'm looking for the loudest possible set within reason. It'll primaraly be used for live bands (main worries there is getting that giant def leppard bass drum sound pushing from the subs) but i also want to be able to use it for club music and whatnot
For the setup what i had in mind was getting 4 powered mains and 4 powered subs. I'm not planning on buying everything at once, i'm looking to start off by purchasing 2 mains and 2 subs to get it started and slowly adding in the rest.
As for brands ATM i've been looking at JBL's PRX series, QSC K series, and Yorkvilles paraline series.
The QSC and JBL's seem pretty comparable with each other and are around the same price where the Yorkvilles are close to double the price.
Right now i'm leaning towards the JBL PRX712's and PRX715LF sub's but i just have a feeling 2 15" subs but i really dont think the single 12" + horn can compete with the Yorkville's 4 6" speakers and the single 15" sub with a duel 12"
Anyone got any advice or maybe some other brands i should be looking into?

Hi,
Its not DIY, and TBH here buying used makes the most sense.
Buy the best quality used stuff you can afford IMO. At double
the price 2x12 doesn't beat 1x15, or 4x6" beat 12" really.
rgds, sreten.

You're gonna need something like 4 SRX 725s over 4 SRX 728s and about 16,000 watts of amplification to get rock band level sound for 250 or more IMO.

The Yamaha DSR series is a well reviewed box too. I would look at the Yorkville subs or find a pair of used 2X18" passive boxes + ballsy amp for bass duty. Club music these days has a ton of 35-40hz wub and you will need to move some air to do it justice in a large venue.
