Hello, I'm desperately looking for an external USB audio card with 2 LINE only inputs and 2 line outputs, able to work in full duplex with zero latency and overall with good quality A/D/A converter stages.
All audio gears I've seen include mic preamp and input stages that can accept line level signals but not truly bypassing preamp. My signals aren't to be amplified (if anything attenuated), coming from a loudspeaker measurement gear, so I don't need a mic preamp at all, all I want is a very good quality A/D/A converter where quality is centered on the converter stages.
Similar products I've found are only:
- Behringer UCA202 (or222)
- ESI U24 XL
What can you tell me about these? Can you suggest me something similar but with certified high quality converters?
Thank you very much

If you don't mind some extra channels in the unit, then look at units that have more inputs and outputs. These typically have some dedicated line inputs (on the rear of the unit) in addition to the mic/line combo inputs on the front. For example Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, Presonus 1818VSL, Behringer UMC1820, etc. It's up to you to look at the specifications (noise, THD, etc.) and decide which is right for you and your budget.
For highest quality of ADC look at Focusrite Clarett USB range. Not cheap.

I don't know about ESI U24 XL but I see it's a 24bit soundcard. I have Behringer UCA202. This is a 16bit unit and like ESI does only up to 48kHz. I purchased the Behringer to use it for testing gear solely based on internet reviews. What I don't know is where those reviews were based. 🙂 I wouldn't like to be misunderstood, it is not that bad. But the input section had the problem you are talking about. For line level the attenuator has to slide really low. So I decided to hack it. The digital section is one chip doing all the job -USB interface, ADC and DAC (Cool audio V2902). Even digital filters are included. Sorry, at the moment I'm unable to attach link to the datasheet where it gives application schematics(page 14). There, it doesn't recommend input analogue low pass filter and since the input impedance is 30k, I bypassed completely the input opamps and the low pass filter that the Behringer has on board. I'm very happy with the result. If only such chips existed for 192kHz/24bit...
