Load capacitance ... how to get it halved?

Hi!

I have a firewire audio interface with MM phono pre-amp onboard. I got information from manufacturer that the input is 47kΩ/200pF.
Recommendation for my Technics 205CMK3 cartridges is 47kΩ/<200pF so I try by getting it halved because the resulting audio is way too bright compared to audio got from using other RIAA pre-amps (47/50kΩ, 100-120pF).

It's quite a long since I have played with electronics so, I can't remember for sure if this is fixed by adding another capacitance component in serie or parallel with the present one. What capacitance value is needed in case of right mounting. (Can this be fixed using some other method ... shorten/lengthen cables ... if the method is to add new capacitance in serie with the present one?)
