Hi Sonicles,
If you want to get as close to LA90 as possible, then go with Neurochrome Audio projects. Tom uses the same technique (actually I think he was doing that before Topping).
This should do the job: https://neurochrome.com/products/modulus-86-stereo-kit
Or, if you need more POWAH: https://neurochrome.com/products/modulus-286
What are you looking for in an amp? What is your skill level? Do you have access to machining tools?

Yep. I launched the Modulus-86 in 2014. Well before Topping. You can find it here: https://neurochrome.com/products/modulus-86-stereo-kitI think he was doing that before Topping
Tom
And I would take your project over Topping's any day.Yep. I launched the Modulus-86 in 2014. Well before Topping. You can find it here: https://neurochrome.com/products/modulus-86-stereo-kit
Thanks for all your replies to me, and sorry for this very late response in getting back. In reply to SomekPoland. I looked at the neorochrome site. Very interesting and tempting. The reason I asked is that I was looking at other DIY designs and "bargain priced" ready-made units. I have a JLM L20 V9.2 amplifier and I have to say, I am extremely impressed by the sound quality, in particular the utter clarity and ambience it produces from good sources. In fact, I would bet it cannot be far behind the Topping LA90 amp in measurements! If only I could get it tested by Audio Science! I was however, slightly concerned that the Douglas Self in his writings said the Blameless Amp (on which JLM has based this amplifier) is not recommended for low impedance speakers. I am about to build some MTM types, and the impedance will drop to around 3 OHMS at some frequencies. However, the L20 does use 8x power transistors on the output so maybe I will have no problems and it will drive 3 OHMS with very low distortion too?
