Hello,
I'm presenting here another interesting OSHW construction for linear regulated PSU 0-50V 0-2A based on LM10 and ThermalTrack transistor.
Construction represent evaluated schematic from DS with additional features.
Main idea with such construction is to build simple and good U/I regulated PSU but on other side to be as robust as possible.
ThermalTrack transistor is used as ideal fit for the task and internal sensing diode is used as perfect temperature sensor for monitoring silicon chip temperature which provide us almost ultimate thermal protection of serial pass element independent of external heatsink and it's properties!
Other features include remote-sensing, no additional/bias power supply required and can fit well with pre-regulators or variac, High temp LED indicator, up to 120V input voltage when TL783 is used instead LM317HV, extendable up to 4A output current with only additional 0.1R resistor (R3) and compact single-layer PCB for easy build of additional channels.
All other good technical properties (load/line regulation, PSSR, transient response etc) are provided by very nice and useful IC LM10.
Documentation and source files can be found here:

If you have any questions regarding this construction do not hesitate to ask.
