Lm 3886 guitar Amp

have you an idea for a simple preamp stage (Tube or FET) .I have a Yamaha SA500 guitar with alnico pickup.

How much gain is need ? 🙂

I think a gain of 20 is adequate for a guitar magnetic pickup..

I don"t know about a gain of 20 ...that might be fine for playing Jazz but not for anything heavey...The active electronics in my guitar have more gain than that and my guitar pre-amp has a gain of over 10,000x.....
