🙂hi Guys
Although i might be able to transfer the guts of a Sonic T Amp, and put it into a jewellery box, im not too hot on building amps.
So i am looking at ready finished T Amps at the moment, and in my search i have come across the Littledot T_110 AMp.
http://www.little-tube.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=51&PN=1
It costs about £180 inc postage to the UK, which for me, and the wattage output 60watts RMS @8ohms, gives the amp balls at louder levels than my SI T amp. I just wonder what you guys think about it, looking at the guts. There are major points i have to consider before i would purchase.
Firstly, that it comes from so far away in China, and that means import Tax To the UK) and Secondly, I have heard concerns about the build quality, mainly on the little tube.com forums.
I have been in touch with Allesandro, from the Autocsotruire website asking about an Audiodigit completed Amp, which is called the T100 as well. But it seems they are not assembling these anymore, only the 8 channel power amp, and 2 channel power amp, exist as fully made models.
Had I the nouse to know what i was doing, i would really like to make the current Amp, but I am too clumsy, and although i can see a photo and do like for like switches upgrades, of individual components. Im not too hot on electronics. So If i bought the components needed, would anyone in the UK, be willing to put it together for me, if i have to go down this route?. I will of course pay the going rate. I can source about 90% of the bits i need to make it. It would be based on the Class T100 HCL-m board
The thing is I would like a selector swith, to have 3 line inputs on the back. And some indicators on the front with small blue leds, for each input selected, and last of all, a power switch for the front, to go with the blue LED's i quite like the blue power button on the bulgin website>>>
This will be my main Amplifier, so im not wanting to make a hash of it, hence why im asking.
Now all of this lies on what email i get back from Allesandro, from Autocsotruire, so any comments ideas, on the chinese Amp, would be greatly appreciated, or even any other ready made alternatives of similar spec?. I have seen the Super t , and the Trends, but i like the fact this will have more control at higher volume, due to the extra wattage over my current T Amp.
thanks for your time , regards
Andrew🙂

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Well, kind a of a complicated question/post. Maybe that's why no answers?
I have a Little Dot 100, but at the moment it is in parts and pieces. It arrived with a broken tube, so the normal signal path doesn't work. The bypass/MP3 input has a lot of hum, I don't know why yet. Despite the hum the amp sounded strong and solid, but I couldn't really judge anything else.
The tube pre is part of the input circuit that also uses an opamp and a "pot on a chip" volume control.
Build quality is not bad. There are a lot of nice parts in there that the bean counters at big corporate manufactures would never allow. That's the nice thing about these small series amps.
When I get a little further along with mapping out the amp and modifying, I'll post.
I have not built any of the Autocostruire amps, but they look nice. They certainly are on top of the T-Amp thing.

Well, i have spoken to a cross reference of people who own the little dot, and arent too happy, so i am not after it no more.
Allesandro has told me that their T100Amplifier, (the fully constructed version in casing, etc), will be ready in 2 weeks.
So i will be buying that.
I should have updated this, as the need for somone to construct the "kit" Amp, was based on the fact previously Allessandro said that it was no longer available.
That aside, I will in future, be trying to make a kit version for myself, for monitoring, at a later date
Also im going to make some IPL S5TL Kevlar /ribbon speakers, From Ivan, which will be fun😀
I do love kits, as so many buy endlessly manufactured brand names, myself once included, but for much less, and for more fun, you can build excellent, amps, speakers, etc, at a fraction of the cost😀
Actually I built, last year, one Autocostruire kit, and I must say it was a good amplifier (the one based on 2024), easy to build and with clear instructions inclosed. As far as this is my only experience with Autocostruire kits, I have been satisfied. And quite helpful guys too, that's not bad at all.
I have one that's also in pieces, mostly due to a failed modification to remove the tube buffer.
IMHO I'm quite underwhelmed by the tube stage... I suppose that the whole amp should sound much better without the tube stage. It really can do without the muddiness...

M. Mardis found this as well. It's a botched job. He's having to redo it completely. Apparently the amp, re-parted without the tube stage sounds great but he's stubborn and we want to get the tube front end working the way it should/could.
