I noticed that I like to listen to speakers from far distance. I enjoy listening to music laying on a couch when speakers playing in another room. I know that imaging and soundstage are nice effects, but it feels like my brain is constantly decoding unnecessary information and it quickly become tiresome to sit in a "sweet spot". I like when sound travels some distance before I hear it. Does anyone have similar experience?

Your enjoying the music, rather than the technicalities of the sound repreduction.😀
Best way to listen to it, I've found. I have the odd day when I'm moving speakers by millimeters or supporting my cables with house bricks (I cant afford the exotic wood), but have found a few beers cures the problem.

Such a way music is well blended with reverberation in your house. Something similar happens when open baffle speakers are used.
Since a large part of what you hear is reflected sound to begin with, there is often not a real sweet spot anyway, at least a pratical one.
Most of us can't decorate a room solely around a par of speakers and we must make concessions to keep people happy or to accommodate a room/area floor plan.
Personally, I have an "L" shaped room to deal with in my apartment and that is an acoustical strike before I even get up to the plate.
So, it just set it up for a compromise between a few listening points which includes lying on my couch, sitting on my recliner, and at my dining table, etc.
The only "sweet" spot for imaging is sitting on the floor about 5 feet in front of my TV so, I don't wory about it.
