i just purchased a liquid video e15lcd1 (refurbished) for $210 CND. It was too good a deal to pass it up but now i am wondering if it will be easy to strip it cause this will be my first DIY project and i am scared of breaking my lcd on the first try. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated it. 🙂
thanks in advance

UPDATE:
Still havent found out anything about the panel but i just wanted to let all know that i just got a 3m 213 OHP. The lense is cracked across the middle but it works and projects a bright image. 😛.
The next thing would be to strip the lcd and test it. From what i have been reading from other ppl's posts is that it works good as a DIY Projector build. 🙂 so.. i will be researching some more on the lcd disasessmbly and hopefully have some results soon. hehehe.. cant wait. 🙂

I know i know.. its hard. i am in the mississuaga area and i was calling around (must have called 25+ places) and i found this computer shop in brampton called computer windows (or is it windows computers) anyways, they told me to about another place (its an institute) and they have a 3m 9100, but they want 200 bucks for it. works good but too expensive. Pm me and i will give u their contact number. ok.. kinda got side tracked there. i got mine from a guy who doesnt need it anymore. the main lenticular lense is cracked, i havent checked to see if all the layers have the crack, i just know the top lense does.

ok.. just ran some initial tests and got my projector up and running. incredible stuff, really. i mean i knew what to expect from looking at other ppl's posts but its something else when u see it in ur own lounge. God bless you guys at Diyaudio, each and everyone.
Thanks a lot.

sorry, i forgot to add this to my post above, can anyone please tell me if there is any software to resize my lcd screen? its being cut off a bit cause the screen size is 15" and the stage size is 10"x10".
Thanks in advance. 🙂

i downloaded dscaler from their website. It works good for my Tv tuner and xbox connection. No delay in games and i can resize the image to fit my screen. And i got blackout cloth and made a screen out of it, which works really good from before. Whites are whiter and blacks are good and black. 🙂 overall i am very happy with the results.

Powerstrip is the program you want to use to resize your whole desktop to fit on the OHP stage. I'm using a Viewsonic VE500 15" on my OHP, and since it has ffc issues I have it running 1024x488 and shifted to clear the portion of the panel hidden under the pcb. It also brings my projectd image down to a more manageable size, and screen door is still very minimal. The only catch to doing it this way is that any direct3d games will still use the whole screen, but for most windows apps, tv and dvd it stays within the size you specify. Let me know and I can take a pic of the panel with the display only using a portion of it, and a screenshot of my Powerstrip settings.

Analog, and I'm using an Nvidia card(FX5200). With the Nvidia drivers there is a setting in the drivers to choose the screen timings. Set it to keep aspect ratio or something like that and it will no longer stretch to fill the whole screen. Pick a custom res, and adjust it with Powerstrip. Maybe I'll post up some screenshots of what I mean for you. I have not tested this with an ATI card.
