Hi. Looking for somebody to fix Linn CD12. Looks like the famous Brilliant power supply is kaput. I changed the caps, but it is still dead.
Usually what fails on an SMPS is the tiny SMD controller chip or the semicondutors. Check the switching transistors and the dual diode rectifier on the output.
Linn CD12 Dead
Hello
yes , they are ultra-fast rectifiers made by Vishay and easy to find
If you can do it your self (no tools) give it to somebody who know how to replace them .
I can do it but you are too far away !

Hi. When you repair anything, don't change caps because "tradition" says it. Use common sense and logic. Try to find the bad components, check the components, replace bad componentes and so. If caps are good, why do you replace them?
I'm not agree with this habit to replacing capacitors like it were a mere habit.
Repair is relatively simply: Go to the fault and solve it. Nothing else.
In this case, check all components, specially in the primary and in the zone with these diode cracked.
