Hi,
Just one question this time 🙂
Does all CD/DVD/DAT/MD etc. players have an output level corresponding to -10dBV (I think this is about 0.3Vrms, and it is a standard for consumer electronics) ? Or such equipments have different output voltage levels ? Could you give me some examples of peak to peak voltage levels of the equipments ?
Thanks in advance...

Hi,
The redbook standard RMS output voltage for a CDP is 2VRMS.
This amounts to 6V peak 2 peak.
Some run a bit hotter others fall below.
I suppose this is pretty much the same output level you can expect from a DVD, DAT and MD.
Cheers,😉
