I need some advice. I have been offered to by this system. It is made from 9 scanspeak 8546 and ribbons on each side. The material is 22 mm MDF, with cherry on the sides. This system is for sale at about 1300 US dollar. No filter included. It messures 180 x 35 x 45 cm in total. Will it be posible to make this system work well? At the moment it is a besreflex system. I am thinking of making a colsed/vented system instead and them maybe use some active eq in the bottom octave. How about the ribbons? They are made from ferite magnets and works as dipols. Anny coments/advice is welcome.

This looks pretty cool. The price is not too bad, either. Yes, you can probably get these sounding very nice indeed, especially if you're willing to add subwoofers.
Ummm.... That price is amazing. I would buy these pronto if I were you. I dont know what the ribons are, but the woofers alone are worth more than the price of the speakers. If those are Newform ribons, they cost about 700 each. They dont look like newforms though. Either way, they are no doubt expensive, and yes, you can probably make them sound great if you have a good ear, some measurement equipment some ability to design XO's.
