Most of the info is in Japanese — i have attached a google translation of the Fostex page. Look like it is n FE108e∑ with the exotic cone materials used in the lauded FE208 SIgmaSpeacial and the aweful FE138.

...I was thinking this is what the "promise" of the FE138EsR was supposed to be before we saw and took its transfer function Fq plot serious and prior to reports from those who pulled the trigger.

You guys talked me out of the 70th anniversary FE103A when news of that one broke, told me it's a collector's item for display in its display box on a shelf. For actual use, can do better for the money.

FE108SS-HP could be the FR driver suitable for a small room that I've been waiting for.

Hoping Madisound is able to offer them to us.

I’m wondering if these might work well in a tapered TL similar to the PTT6.5. I think the basket is a drop in fit.

Sure. Or rather, while I can't speak for the PTT6.5 as I don't know what it is, the spec. is OK for a quarter-wave. Bit of energy storage around 600Hz, albeit the log. scale does tend to emphasise that, and for the money, you can't exactly complain. 😉

I heard that it is not selling well in Japan, probably because it is lower rated than TangBand W4-1879, MarkAudio MAOP7.

I'm very familiar with the FE series and so I have reasonable expectations. Sales are likely related to other factors which is a problem in general for the audio industry right now.
