Light for micro 2" projector

Im wondering what light I can use for a 2" lcd projector, I cant see any point in using one of the bulbs used in the 7" - 15" projectors as they are a. to big b. to much heat c. to expensive for such a small projector

Im trying to create the smallest projector I can, I know that the image quality is going to be pretty shabby (using a casio 2" lcd) but I only want to project a small image between 30"- 40" maximum.

Can you guys giveme any ideas on a small light sorce I can use, I was thinking about using the light from a old slide or cine projector but would like some feedback from people before i start tearing things apart.

Also for a lens, would it be ok to use the lens from the same old cine or slide projector. I know that the slides that go into the slide projector are pretty mucht the same size as my 2" LCD

Ive already done that, thats how I have most of the parts. I want to make a small projector in a small enclosure, I want to know if I can get better lights or if one from a slide or cine projector would be my best bet due to heat and brightness and all that

I just finished producing a 1.8inch LCD inside a slide projector the results are fairly bright and i cant seem to imagine you need much more light. For pictures check out my website below.. 'Results' section. As you said the more light the hotter it will get, i dont have any problems running mine for at least 1 hour (thats with a fan - without it only lasted 1 min max before black spots arose)

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve😕
The optics of the slide projector are arranged in the optimum way by the manufacturer - you're unlikely to improve on their design with the same bits. The size of the projector is essentially defined by the optics, so you won't get it much smaller by fiddling😉

I'd like to help, and might be able to do so with more information.
As I explained, the size of the projector is determined mainly by its optics, so you are unlikely to get it much smaller (apart from by removing unnecessary ancillary mechanism) if you want to use the same parts. Even if you used alternative optics, it's unlikely that you would get it much smaller; if it were possible, they'd have made the slide projector smaller to start with - why would they make it larger than necessary?
Good luck!
