Rest in peace. Sadly I had a feeling this was coming. He sure lived fast and hard. I wonder if it was those damn cigarettes. They took my Dad and both my Grandfathers.

A little known piece of Hawkwind trivia for the older forum reprobates: 'Silver Machine' was co-written by Mick McManus, a pro wrestler arch villian of considerable notoriety during my childhood years.

It took until today's news to discover he was in Hawkwind !
And got kicked out.

Probably because he never paid back the money he borrowed which also earned him his name ("Lemmy a fiver, mate!").

Sad he is gone but he did have a great life and in all honesty he was living on borrowed time for at least the last forty of his seventy years.
An astonishing number of his friends and acquaintances died in their 20s and 30s living the way he did (Lemmy started his career roadying for Jimi Hendrix).

I have friend who used to work in NZ as the PA/fixer for a promoter who booked major international acts.

Motörhead were the largest consumers of alcohol and illicit substances she can recall and were screaming for 'seconds' shortly after lunch. Apparently their demand for supples of women was not nearly as taxing.

Motorhead's brand of punk-metal is kind of silly to be honest.. I do remember they made a big impression on me the first time I saw them, which was on the TV show "The Young Ones" which was syndicated on MTV back in the late 80's. I thought they were pretty bada** when I was a teen. 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOAz4nPNvLI

Is there a song other then Ace of Spades that showcases what they were all about? I listened to parts of that album on Youtube and all the songs sound the same 😉 Now get off my lawn, you young punks...
