LED televisions

I did some searching, but does anyone know anything about using LEDs in this way?

yeah i had this idea when my dad first showed me LEDs about 6 probably, 1 how much do you think it would cost? 2 where do you plan to get a controler board? 3 are you going to solder every singel one of them? think it would take atleast a century to make one

Very common. Just about every big screen display at rock concerts uses them. Do a search for Barco and Starvision, two amongst many providers...
