After several weeks reading this interesting forum and seeing the great results that some members have obtained I took the decission to make my own 7" LCD projector. But I have a question to clarify about the LCD type :

I want to use it for DVD, VCR and TV only, not for PC connection.
Which LCD is better : Lilliput VGA (native 800 x 480), Lilliput with TV tunner (native 480 x 234) or Phoenix 7" TFT ? Please suggest me the correct model for my future use.

Choose the Lilliput XGA (800x480)

The XGA 7" Lilliput will always be better because of less screen door and I have heard that the TV tuner one is hard to strip. However it really all depends on your budget. As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" you will always get better images with the XGA but you will have to pay more for it. Also I beleive you can use a VCR as a TV tuner and the XGA comes with 3 outputs or inputs.

it is referred to as XGA because it converts an XGA signal to SVGA. The lilliput is full SVGA, it is just widescreen. It is the same resoluton as 800x600 without the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.

As for which one to get, it is a no brainer. Definately get the Liliput that is 800x480. It cannot be beat in that size. I have it and am totally pleased. I onlky use it for DVD and TV and it is awesome.
