I've been researching and contemplating putting a 15" LCD on an OHP for a few months and have been constantly reading up about it. So ive decided im going to go ahead, but my budget is as little as possible.
So i have first been looking around for an LCD. I've mainly been searching eBay and i've noticed that there are a lot of faulty monitors for sale, all with the same problem. They come on for a certain ammount of time (between 10 second and half an hour) then turn off again. Turning the monitor on and off solves the problem for another half hour apparently.
So i was wondering if anyone knows what is causing this problem and if it is easy to fix, if so, then i should be able to pickup a monitor for about £10-£30 as faulty and just repair it. This would cut alot of the cost of the project.
One thought that crossed my mind was that it might be the backlight playing up. I recently replaced my light bulb as it did the same thing as the monitors lol.
But i think this would benefit any newbies (like me) wanting to try out the project because they wouldnt be shelling out £££ for an LCD.

p.s. does TFT = LCD?
