Lab Power Supply

Hi All,

I would like to but a power supply for the HV to play around with various valves, including KT88 and 300B. I have been offered the following:

1) Max 350 V 0.250A drop type

or

2) Max 500 V 0.200A switching type

What would you pick ? the second one is also more expensive.

Do you think that 350 V is not enough?

Thanks,

Davide

I think having 500v available would be helpful for power pentodes and beam tubes. Many multigrid power tubes like voltages between 350 and 500. It's probably better to have the voltage available than to need it and not have it, depending on the difference in price!
