Is it just me, or do the outsides of the Krell amps look a lot more impressive than the insides?

I agree. That was my immediate impression but I figured it was just me. It looks like something I have built in the past. The outside does look a LOT more impressive than the inside.

with 218 bjts per channel, the mtbf must be near nil😱 anybody got reliability data for these beasties?🙂

Once, just once, I used PSU caps of as many as number of orchestra members.It's something like 218.
Each cap was responsible for each instrument. Wow... But no more.

True, but music was still music and distortion was still distortion. There are some really good sounding audio components from that same timeframe.
