Koss Replacement Warranty

While the Koss web site states that their lifetime limited warranty only applies to the original purchaser, they don't say anything about sending in proof of purchase, just $6.95 or so as a handling fee.

If I were to buy a used set of Koss headphones that were defective but one of the ones covered in the limited warranty, would I have a problem sending them in to get repaired or replaced?

Koss ESP-9 Electrostatic Headphones + E.9 Energizer

Whilst looking for info on where I might sell a set of ESP-9 + E.9 Energizer I stumbled on this thread. I have a set in perfect condition, the only slight flaw is that the earcup foam is slightly compressed due to having been stored with the cord wrapped round them for a time. I attach some photos. If you anyone is still interested, please let me know.
