Iv'e built a phono stage from a very well known kit supplier. With my volt meter set on dc mv im getting around +.018v on one input channel and -.018 on the other. Would this be normal? as i dont want to riskdamage to the cartridge

normality depends on the design of the phono stage.

With a MM and 1k resistance = 18uA, not going to damage anything.

With phono designs the arguement is the degradation of the
coupling capacitors versus the current by leaving them out.

Engineers put the capacitors in, others leave them out.

😉 sreten.
