a few days ago a friend of mine asked me bout keyboards , i didn t know much bout them ,..
keyboards need a very wide range of freqs , unlike other instruments that need a special range of freqs , so i think the keyboards amp and preamps are more like a hi-fi systems ? and will work better with them , am i right ?
can anybody gimme more infos bout keyboards amp ?
how they work and what are the diffrences ?

NOT a HiFi amp, they are too low powered and fragile for musical instrument applications, basically a keyboard amp is more of a PA amp then anything else.
I've got a Fender 60W keyboard combo (which I use for guitar funnily enough), it's essentially the same power amp and speaker system (with a tweeter) that the guitar or bass combo would have, only the preamp is different.
As it's fed from a line level signal, the preamp doesn't require as much gain, and the inputs are balanced and far lower impedance than a guitar needs (I feed guitar via an active DI box). The inputs are also flat, no over drive channels or anything, and it has spring reverb built in.
For actual keyboard use (as my daughter plays keyboards in her band sometimes - although mainly bass guitar) I simply plug the keyboard directly into the PA mixer/amp - into a spare line input, as all mike channels are taken.
