My c-2 preamp has a bad balance pot. Its a alps dual ganged pot CV5017. Is it possible to just jumper across the pot terminals and do away with the balance function?
The pot is about 10mm square with six terminals, 1/4" d type shaft. Schematics dont give a ohm amount. Schematic shows part# RO6-3047-05.
Any ideas for fix?

If your problem is one of noisy or intermittent contacts, the very first thing to do is to clean it with some Caig Deoxit D5. A little can will last most folks decades. Top recommendation.
If it's been hit with a hammer, you can indeed jumper it out of the circuit. Look for the ground connections for each channel (they'll be at opposite ends of the three-in-line connection rows, and will both go to circuit ground). Then connect the other two connections in each row to the other in that row. Declare victory.
All good fortune,
Chris
