KEEP your OHP's away from Sunlight!!!!!!!!!!

When I opened up my ohp to look at the fresnels I noticed one nice quarter sized black/warped spot on the bottom of my ohp, It has been sitting next to my window and the fresnels must have been collecting the light into one nice small beam and It started to burn the plastic inside, I wondered why a week or so ago someything smelled like burning plastic, Its cause PLASTIC WAS BURNING. Thank God it didnt start a fire. Moral of the story dont be dumb like me and keep your OHP's away from the sun LOL.

I avoid this sort of problem (plus keep my "dust" issues on the LCD and lens to a minimum) by having done the following...added a "light container". For a temporary sollution I have a "baby pillow" sized pillow case that I put over the PJ angle head when not in use (I'll make something more "elegant" someday....).

This was a concern for me for some time as my PJ faces out the big front window of my house and it recieves awesome sun during the day when the verticals are pulled back.

What amazes me still is that I can watch movies during full on sunlight with the verticals closed and the screen lowered. The screen is what 'closes the deal" it more than covers the window and while it's powering down into position it's like watching an eclipse....instant night time.

Too bad about your fresnel 🙁 I've often wondered about "glass" fresnels :devily:
