JX92S in closed (aperiodic?) box

I've got a couple of Jordan JX02S's that I'm going to use in small boxes augmented with a subwoofer.

I'm thinking I'll put them in 0.3ft^3 boxes. Theoretically, that would give a Qtc of around .68.

Gurus, would I gain (lose) anything by throwing a ScanSpeak aperiodic vent into the mix?

I don't know what its coefficient is, but it will lower Fb by some amount.

If you're using a "Variovent", you must be able to make measurements to get the right percentage of stuffing and to tune the box correctly...
Not a job for anyone, who is newbie on that point...

Technically correct, but down low/up high our hearing is amplitude based so you can get 'close enough' just by listening to test tones. Even if someone can't, they can get what they sounds pleasing to them. 😉

i agree with GM. you can pretty close using test tones or a signal generator. i would be most interested in you results.

Can you elaborate? What is it that I've got to get just so? Just to be sure we are on the same page, this will not be a bass reflex system. The vent is a hole stuffed with felt or something. It is not open like the port in a bass reflex.

Without the variovent, the Q will be about .68. Won't the device just lower the Q a bit more? I would think that the project would be pretty hard to screw up, rather than hard to get right. What am I missing?

yes, this is what it will do...
I wouldn't use it with the jordans, they will play nicely in a closed box with
Qts 0.68...
