Hi all,
I would like to know is anyone have experience on JX92 VTL transmission line enclosure with other unit, like Fostex or TB?
Thanks!

Have a look at the Caolina Audio site. They've specialisd in the VTL for a while and are using the same basic design with other units. It's basically a Daline TL, so you could adjust line length, line area and chamber volume to match other units.
Me too...
I have been looking into trying this too - VTL type box with Fostex drivers.
Colin - couldn't find info on the Carolina site other than that with Jordan drivers.
Anyone have any info on design of Daline TLs?
Thanks

Yes! I am also thinking to use Fostex or TB into the JX92 VTL Box! Just I cant get any info or sharing about this. Anyone can help? Thanks!
I have read the Daline article – very interesting indeed. Following this, I did some calculations with winISD and came up with the following for the Fostex FE103E:
Cavity volume 3L
Box tuning frequency 50Hz (?)
Line csa and length to suit box dimensions
According to the results given by winISD the Fostex FE108EΣ should be a straight swap.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
Lee

The VTL by Fostex in a version for the FE108 sigma. They call it a
Spiral Horn, not to be confused with another 'spiral horn' with a different
internal layrinth in a pvc pipe.
These are a lot more work than a BIB but might fit some environments
better.

This one is slightly different in that the line expands to the mouth, presumably to give it a little horn action. The VTL keeps a constant area line and the original Daline tapers towards the mouth. They all use a similar principle, though of using the chamber as a bandpass filter between driver and line.
Just make sure you don't try tuning below 0.707Fs or your midbass will start to go AWOL. So the enclosure for a 108 ideally doesn't want to go below ~54.5Hz, and preferably not that low. Remember too that the Sigma is a low excusion driver with an Xmax of 0.28mm, which doesn't give much leeway. They can go further, but distortion will rapidly increase.
Thanks for the info - could have made a major c*** up there!
Anyway, did some re-calculations and got started on them yesterday.
