JVC Kaboom Subwoofer resonating

Hi,

I recently found a good deal for JVC NB1 and now I happily own one 🙂. It is a really nice boombox, but I notice one thing. When I play a bass heavy song, I can hear a parasitic resonance from inside the woofer chamber, which is not really pleasant. Its not that the drivers don't have enough power and distort, on the contrary, it sounds like plastic is resonating somewhere there. After a quick dissection of one of the woofers I found that there is a second chamber that isolates the mid's and hi's speaker, an amplifier or at least the coils and actually nothing else /some wires of course/. I took the driver out of the cabinet and played some bass test songs and there was no distortion. The parts in were well screwed and nothing was moving. So...if anyone who owns a Kaboom and has experienced a similar problem and cured it in some way, please share 🙂
