got an nview L500 on the way- far from top of the line, but $200 is dirt cheap.

Only problem (so far) is once the bulb is gone, the projector is gone- since nview no longe makes pj's. If I can't rig something I guess it's a disposable projector.

did I just make a $200 mistake?

there's hope

if you can match the rating of the "new" lamp to the old one then you shouldn't have a problem. just make sure that it's the same or you might overload your power supply and burn out the lamp or the projector.

i've done it before

18wheeler,

i have no idea about that projector. I tired doing a few searches and came up empty. Are you sure that is a avp-550 lcd projector? Did you see that on the projector itself? Maybe you should contact Apollo and see if they can help you find some specs or a manual or something. Basically just match wattage, and lamp size.

I couldn't find anything on their website. and from the information I gathered, they stop produce LCD projector. most the model numbers associated with apollo start with VP-xxx, like vp-820 to vp-920. i did a search with vp-550 without result. I will call their 800 number to find out if they still have manuals.
