JTR Noesis

I had a pair of 3TX for a while. I never bothered to figure out exactly what the 10"s were, but they have a basket shape like that of the 18 sound 10mb520, or Fane Sovereign Pro 10-300.
IOW, the drivers were not round, they were flattened to make the speaker smaller.

Oh, and it used the bms4593. (I don't think any of JTR's stuff uses a 2" like the 4592)

Did't know that BMS4592 is a woofer ! 😉
Fun aside: I guess you are not talking about the subwoofer modules from the link that you posted but the MTM ?! Those 10" behind the mesh look a bit like Fane drivers IMO.

Regards

Peter Morris PM90 does slightly above 130db with 2 horn loaded 12s from 100Hz to 500Hz , I think its impressive that the Noesis does 130db from 120Hz.

Are those some high sensitivity 10s in those cabinets? where is the trick?

I was trying to be kind, saying to reach 130dB, you would need to move high pass up to 120Hz....it may be more like 150Hz....and a lot depends on what SPL are you talking about...flat, peak, etc.

As for the 3TX drivers, like Brett said, it's about displacement. And remembering that the displacement requirement for equal SPL levels go up 4X per octave decrease.

I've had the 3TX and PM90 side by side, and the PM90 has about a 8-9dB advantage. Peter designed a great box 😉
