Hi Everyone,
Recently I purchased a pair of Jordan Watts loudspeakers from early 90's.
Because I can't find any info on them on the web I was hoping if anyone on the forum might know anything about them (mainly if the drivers are genuine).
All drivers are made by Audax - 6.5" HDA woofers and 1" textile tweeter. Because these are quite unusual for Jordan Watts, I would like to know if they have not been replaced in the past.
Cheers
Tom

They look like genuine Audax but they are definitely not Jordan drivers. The cabinets would not have fitted the Jordan drive units so it looks like they are a finished, unmodified speaker.
The Jordan Watts 1990s speakers were made in the UK. The cabinets were an unusual, six-sided shape, called the Aspect, and featured Ted Jordan's JX125 and JX51 or JX53 drive units, all of them with alloy cones. I believe one design was more like the traditional LS3/5a shoebox shape and had the J91 driver.
Jordan Watts Acoustics Limited ran throughout the 1990s but closed at the end of 1999. I'm not aware of the company producing enclosures with non-Jordan drivers but it may have happened towards the end of the company's life. Alternatively the name may have been sold on after the company closed.
As far as these particular speakers go, if they work OK, enjoy them for what they are. They look an attractive speaker.

As Colin said - not like any official (Ted) Jordan Watts configuration those most familiar with the brand would recognize- perhaps you have photos of the labelling / name plates?
That said, they may well sound just fine

Thank you for reply.
They have original Jordan Watts name plates with JW serial numbers.
I was concerned because not so long ago there was a pair sold on ebay, that had different tweeters fitted (looked like cone type), therefore I was wondering if these ones are original.
These are very good loudspeakers as I've been HDA cones fan for many years.
