Joining 26/27/28 AWG wires together temporarily - help!

Hi,

New to the world of soldering, wire joining and general electronics. I have a project underway to connect a DAC board (ES Sabre) to an ICE Power amplifier.

Where I am having a world of pain is joining the wires together from analogue out on the DAC to the analogue in on the AMP. Both cables runs terminate into JST connectors on the boards , but the other ends are just stripped and not terminated.

The gauge of the wire is somehwere around the 27AWG with a standard plastic outer coating. I have tried using Dupont connecters to join the wires but the crimp won't hold the jacket of the cables very well. I thought maybe JST would work but it still means lots of crimping and I must admit I am still learning the art.

Ultimately what I want is to be able to temporarily connect thewires to one another, and then all being well I will solder them together once I am happy everything is working okay.

I looked at standard terminal blocks but they don't really accomodate very thin wire very well.

My question - Whats the best solution for joining the wires temporarily (not twisting them together) ? Mini terminal blocks? Some sort of other connector?
