For those with an interest in John Coltrane, I heard a 2-hour program the other night called "The Making of A Love Supreme" about how the recording came about and its place as basically the culmination of John Coltrane's work. Includes recordings of John himself speaking about his music, the other musicians speaking, and Rudy Van Gelder, the recording engineer. Great to hear.

Very good, and I wish I had recorded it. Produced by WBGO radio (Newark, NJ, US of A).

Maybe your local public radio station will broadcast it, or maybe WBGO makes it available somehow. I haven't checked with them yet.

It's narrated by this guy Mos Def, who's a little too deadpan for my tastes. I didn't know who he was. My girlfriend had to tell me. Shows how much I know

Vince,
mmmhhmm, Love Supreme. Your post triggered me to spin it. :cloud9:

Your girl friend told you? girl friends reminding you of Coltrane broadcasts are worth keeping 🙂
