Diyaudio member Johan Potgieter passed away last week . I'm posting this here because he was most active in the valve/tube section .

Sad News.
His posts about the winding details of the Quad II opts helped me to understand them.

Ai, that's sad news.
One of the regulars in the tube/valve section that'll be missed.
Quad II indeed, doubled up with 4 6L6 per channel.
Safe journey Johan.

I too learnt so much from Oom Ampdog (Johan's nick was Ampdog on avforums.co.za).
Anybody wishing to read any posts he made there can join and view post under that profile . I think there are only a few in the world with as an acute understanding of the intricacies of tube electronics . Hopefully more will be made known of his Magnus Opus - the Hallé - a PPP 6L6GC amplifier he was working on . There was some mention of it here at some point .
Some info Johan left at avforums : https://www.avforums.co.za/threads/a-100w-p-c-stereo-valve-amplifier.63383/
