Like the title says, I happened upon a used one for $20. Of course, I got what I paid for. No worky. The system appears "on", by the lit led. There is an audible thump when RCAs are connected and disconnected when the unit is "on". I must assume that the amp is shot, as the speaker itself seems to work. Any schematics out there or ways to diagnose this?

Would a plate amp and power supply (parts express) be preferential than attemting to repair the stock underpowered unit? I read another post regarding a similar situation, but haven't found any other advice. Definitely not afraid of woodworking or electronics.
