Jbl K130-16

Hi.

Any info on this speaker? It seems to be an old 16Ohm bass-driver. Maybe made for use as an "instrument/musician-amp"?

Tried google with little luck

Could it be used as a subwoofer? All I kind find is a Vas at about 300L and a Fs of 40Hz? I'm willing to Equalize and that sort of tricks.

Hi.

Thanks for the fast reply.

It seems to be limited by a Xmax of only 2mm.. that's probably not enough to do anything, - especially EQ'ing.

The K130 is an instrument driver. Useful for lead guitar or possibly blues harp.

That's where I got the specs I posted earlier. I just couldn't find the file on the JBL site so copied them out of the one saved in my database.

It's a great driver, within it's intended application.

It'll work pretty well in a properly designed reflex enclosure as long as you don't ask for really high spls at very low frequencies. Not suited to subwoofer duty due to limited xmax. I had a pair of the 16 ohm D130 in oem jbl cabinets of about 4 cu ft estimated - worked quite well.
