I was recently lucky enough to snap up one JBL 2205a driver and one K-140. There's a few questions I need answered about these drivers though...
What does the 'a' on the end of 2205a represent, alnico?
How does the 2205a compare to a newer model like the 2226h?
I understand the K-140 is a Guitar speaker, but is it of any use as a hi-fi driver?
I'm of the understanding that both drivers have been reconed, although the seller isn't sure whether they were reconed with JBL or Third Party kits. Is there any way to tell a third party recone from an official JBL one?
Would a third party recone make the driver sound any different or even worse, than a JBL recone?
Has anyone got scans of the specification sheets for these drivers?

You can find the datasheet for the 2205 (and possibly even the K-140) on JBL's website http://www.jblpro.com
Look under "obsolete products" or "vintage products" or something like that.
Don't know how to tell a 3rd party recone from a genuine JBL though!
