well is it going to work or not????????

the 2035hpl drivers have been taken out of (jbl 4638 cabinet) and I have read on audio heritage/lansing that the woofers individually are good up to 1200hz x over. But in the cabinet there is a notch at 800hz (due to close coupling) ??????????????????help on this one(for the techies the 2035h on its own is in the jbl 3677 with a crossover @1200hz

Now they are down on QTS but so is the Alpha deltalite, very similiar in TS parameters

and troels says 15" Eminence DeltaLites beat the crap out of Eminence Alpha 15A

So thoughts would be appreciated

The 2035h is a very nicely designed woofer. I have a pair of 4638s I keep meaning to try out myself. The 2035h has a shorting sleeve and is more sensitive than the 2226h, but has a somewhat lower impedance, so a somewhat lower max SPL, but only very slightly, and with some other features that make good sense for home hifi.

The 800hz notch is because of the driver-driver spacing cancellation. Single units won't have the issue, as shown by the 3677 display plot.

The alpha 15A is liked for OB because the high Qts allows for more bass extension after some dipole cancellation, but it's not really that critical an issue, and can be dealt with with EQ. The 2035h is undoubtedly a much more dynamic, clean, higher output driver.

Is it going to work or not? Mostly not- the waveguide doesn't really want to do <1600hz, despite some pushing it lower than that, and there will be lots of cancellation notches through the midrange if you run both 15"s up to the XO. Better would be to do a 2.5 way with only one woofer crossing to the waveguide, but then you're still having to push the horn pretty hard. I run a 1300hz XO with my much larger waveguides. I'd suggest getting a SEOS15 and DNA360 from diysoundgroup, the combo will play lower and better than the selenium and econowave guide, and in a 2.5way, you can make the 2035h work with that combo.
