Hello all,
I'm going to replace the diaphragm assembly of my JBL 4312A loudspeakers. The replacement kit finally arrived, but I need some help because there are two rubber circles (see attachment).
The bigger is 22 millimeter dia. and it's quite soft, it should be the damper and has to be fitten between the titanium dome and the magnet,I'm almost sure. What I can't understand is the smaller one (mm.6 diameter), which is made by hard rubber. Where I have to put this one? [help=]%[/help]
Thank you!
Marcello

The smaller hard rubber plug is inserted in the middle, underneath the large soft foam plug.
It is, as I understand it, a rubber damper placed there to avoid the Ti dome to hit the pole piece.
Had an JBL 035 Ti dome with dissolved foam, where the dome hit the damper with an audible "thud", and it had hammered the plug down from about 3 mm to 1 1/2 mm.

Hi Swin,
thank you for the feedback.
My JBLs are gone now, but good to know!
Regards,
Marcello
Just an FYI; the soft foam should be 10mm in height.
The rubber part should be 3mm in height.
I saw the pictures showing the diameter, but there were missing dimensions for anyone wanting to recreate parts.

Thank you phase!
The problem of course is that JBL does not produce any repair kits any more, wonder why nobody else starts selling foam and rubber replacements for these Ti tweeters.
