Folks,
Just bought a used Japanese Denon DP-300 Direct Drive turntable. Is there anything that need to be changed/adapted to have it working properly in the USA ? DC transformer ? If so what is the best: replacement part, outboard, diY ?
Regards

Japanese line voltage is 100V 60Hz typically (there are some 50Hz areas), our nominal line voltage is 120V 60hz. You will need to look at the ratings plate to determine whether the table needs a step down auto transformer or not, if 100V mains is stated you need to use a transformer, and do not plug it into your 120V outlet directly as it could be damaged by over voltage.
Bucking transformers are another option if you know what that is and how to wire it, otherwise you should stick to a store bought autoformer.

I've assumed that the table is not an international version and does not have a voltage changeover switch.
You should be able to find further information on your table over at https://www.vinylengine.com - you must be a member to access the library and database.

Thanks Kevin,
It is indeed a japanese version rated 100v 50/60 Hz. I have order a step up/down 100/120v. Thanks for the help
