Hello All,
IWISTAO 12W Amorphous C-type Core Push-pull Output Transformer Pr10K – IWISTAO HIFI MINIMART
Just ordered two units for testing, the price looks good and on paper the unit details look interesting as well.
Anybody ever used them? or has any info?
Thank you

Nice, but why does this trigger my ******** detector?

Always the exotic helps to the sale. For us is Japanese for them is British.
I don't know this transformer but I have bought from this seller in the past and the quality was fair for the price. They also have a store inside Aliexpress, prices are often slightly better due to Aliexpress coupon system and better shipping options. They seems to sell a selection of Taobao items, and the description is straight from automatic translation of Taobao, the British attribute seems to be popular there for anything HiFi related. There are several cheap amorphous core push pull output transformers sold on Taobao that I have not seen on western oriented ecommerce sites, such as this one The amorphous core 8K/10K push-pull output transformer is-??? ; they seems to fit well with flea power amplifier requirements.
I recently bought an amorphous core single ended for 2A3's on Ebay have not tried it yet, at least has a gap

Hi Phil
Do these really have a gap? Did you have to assemble them yourself? It kind of looks like it from what is written in the listing (not that it would be a bad thing).

Hi Phil!
Could you tell me the size of the core? Is it a SU85 core? Is the lamination realy thin? What does it mean: Six-clip four-winding method?

2 primary, 2 secondary (as you can see in pictures). Not so complicated method (poor HF performance). 🙂four-winding method?
Due to the thin wires (especially secondary) the loss is significant.
The part of the c core that I can see has a plastic strip a bit sticks out. I received the transformer complete. I could take a photo?
I have never seen an amorphous core before, as far as I can see the lamination are thin
Six-clip four-winding method? I have no idea what it means.

Yes, but what about the "Six-clip " ?🙂2 primary, 2 secondary (as you can see in pictures). Not so complicated method (poor HF performance). 🙂
No, Thanks Phil!I received the transformer complete. I could take a photo?
These are made in china transformers, the c core i am doubt are british made, might be chinese made as well.
6 clip 4 simply a poor translation from chinese to english,it means 6 layers of pri and 4 layers of sec.strays capacitance could be high if winding turns exceeds large numbers of turns.

My pair of se 3.5 k have just turned up, not as small as I had feared they would be. Will post more when I have run them.up.....
I did buy some of the 12 watt 10k push pull version mentioned in the first post. I am trying it in an experimental amplifier at the moment, which is giving me the run around, but some comments. First observation, its primary end to end inductance measure as 161H, which it probably quite good. I have had all sorts of self inflicted instabilities, but when I fixed most of them the last one was because of too much hf gain it resonated at 100kHz. the only other transformer I have on hand to compare is an old Pioneer 15 watt EL84 PP that has 26H end to end.
The core is not British-made. I doubt British make anything nowadays other than financial derivatives.
These are Chinese amorphous cores. I bought 20 sets of these from Alibaba for $6 apiece plus shipping.

How can we know/measure that these are "Amorphous", and that is not only a buzz-word the seller decided to use in the advert?Hello All,
