At this link, http://www.selectdimension.com/pages/356987/index.htm, these people are doing the same think all of us are... for the low price of 1200 bucks! Anywho, I was wondering if any one could figure out what that display/controller on the back of the projector they are selling is? It looks like it would be usefull.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

What a terrible web site... The order form isn't even on a secure page.

Yeah really. I can't imagine someone with an IQ greater than their shoe size dropping $1000 on an insecure site that looks like it was designed 4 years ago, by a 12 year old.

Would definitely be interesting to see the innards of one of those projectors tho.

Dragging back an older thread.. I sent them an email, but forgot to keep a copy... 🙁 I got a reply the following day....

My email said something along the lines of...

"Isn't your LCD projector just a small, fairly low quality LCD screen, a bright light, a fan or 2, a box and some control module thing?? Also, your "TV PROJECTOR" Piece of crap, is just a box and a lense, how can you justify charging over 150bux for it?? how can you justify charging over 100bux for your "LCD PROJECTOR" YOU SUCK!!!"

The reply was this...

"You know Skinniboy, I only work for this company for the past 6 years, I don't even have to answer You because You are very ignorant, The super duper piece of crap hold "2 FRESNEL LENSES" CUSTOM MADE, 100% MADE IN USA, that mold to make THE FRESNEL only cost $225,000, THEY ARE NOT THE ONE YOU FIND in Staples or Office Depot,
We are shipping the Piece of crap World Wide including KOREA, JAPAN and CHINA.
Hooo!!!! I am not going to forget about the LCD Projector, You are going to see them in every house in USA, Our Wholesale is $35000000000000000000000000000000, but not for You Dummy, You going to Pay $??????????????????????.
But I don't think You can effort not even the piece of crap.
Sincerely Yours.

HAHA! If the fresnel lens costs over $200,000 to develop, why is there site hosed on aol? Tonight i plan to send those people an "ignorant" email, even thought I probably know much more about projectors, etc. than they do... In fact, I'm willing to bet that "company" that guy works for is nothing more than one person. And his email is so professional!

And he is right about one thing, most people can't and I quote "effort" an nview panel and a big projector light wrapped up in a nice box for $1200 (wait no... The resolution they said the projector was was the same as the parts express screen... My bad).

On a nicer note, Sincerely Yours? He must like like you... Just kidding. Thanks for that post... Made me laugh! Oh man... You've got to love capitalism!

And I bet there $225,000 lens is very similar to the one made by www.3dlens.com for only $1.50.

nice fresnels

the site has less than 500 hits, not much for a co that sells world wide... i wonder how their lcd projector overcomes the ntsc pal difference..... i bet it is a universal one as is the posersupply

smart guys i would say including the fact that one of their smaller statements is that you need to have a DARK room and preferably a tv that has flatscreen and very bright output! (i wonder why those hi tech fresnels do not overcome blocking of light!!!)

anyway
i would like to see how the lcd panel is implemented and what light source he uses, looking at the picture the fan is big enough to cool MH i would say.....

i am going to ask them to send me a brochure, see what the reply is of this worldwide seller.

Ask for their PPU, leadtime, if the items are shipped FOB, and ask about any royalties on applicable patents to the product.... Heh... I never thought about the power problem to overcome... different plugs...

Fresnel Proj

I personally love how they charge $200 bucks for the fresnel design that's floating on eBay for $5-15. Now that's marketing folks.

Paza

P.S. Just got my system working. overhead proj + qa 1100/1500. Gonna retrofit the ohp with a metal hallide/LOA light. Watched Mr. Deeds. It was tight.
