I have a gateway 17" LCD screen that works most of the time but sometimes likes to flicker . LCD isn't cracked, and when it works it looks great but maybe once a day or so it start showing garbage on the screen and turning the screen off and back on normally fixes the problem ?
Any suggestions ?

Jean,
my guess is that there are a couple of bad solder joints somewhere in the panel and when it gets a little bit warm some connections fail or gather too much capacitance.
If that is the case you should use it if it will stay on long enough to watch a movie. The questions is how long does it take before the screen starts to flicker. Five minutes chuck it. One hour maybe use for a prototype. Two or three hours it can be used for watching a movie and then turned off for a while.

Hezz,
Sometimes it takes several hours to a full day or so before it starts doing that. There isn't a pattern to it from what I can see.
Gordon,
It's FPD1730 from July of 2003, it's all black. Give me an offer 😉
