I've tried to build an under-bed sub with limited success but then I stumbled across some LGs. If I join the two cabinets, apart from a small increase in cabinet volume, is there anything else to be gained?
If you mount the two speakers with opposite drivers you gain force cancelling (independent from joining the enclosure volumes).
Joining the enclosure volumes may have a small disadvantage regarding interaction of drivers with parameter tolerances.
